Project Management

ANZ wanted to upgrade its Roma retail branch to enhance the space, improve service efficiency and retain loyal customers while attracting new long-term clientele. To achieve these objectives, ANZ required an extensive tier-three fit-out design and full refurbishment of the branch, including incorporation of high-end finishes and amenities. The brief was to complete the fit-out and refurbishment in a live branch environment. Building on its enduring working relationship with ANZ, Modus was selected to complete the Roma branch project.

Business continuity was a crucial client value here. Modus needed to deliver the works with no disruption to normal bank operations. Modus drew on its proven experience in implementing strategically staged works in hoarded off areas. A blended program of day and evening work shifts was implemented, enabling noisy works to be scheduled outside branch operating hours. As such, Modus successfully minimised noise, dust and work impacts on ANZ and its customers as well as surrounding businesses.

Clear open client communication was also pivotal to delivering business continuity throughout the project. Modus consulted closely with ANZ stakeholders to fully understand the bank’s operational needs. Works were strategically scheduled to ensure impeccable project delivery while preserving absolute bank ‘up-time’.

A 40-tonne concrete vault was removed from the old branch infrastructure. Modus managed vault dismantling and removal, ensuring that all safety and compliance requirements were satisfied. The ultimate result of the project was a thoroughly refurbished branch space with innovative tier-three floor design, all delivered efficiently and quietly without impinging on ANZ branch operations.
