At Modus Projects we provide Project Management, Construction, Fit-out, Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Services to some of Australia’s leading brands, including major banks, government departments and petroleum sites. Due to significant growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Carpenter based in Sydney. The position on offer is an exciting and varied role, you will be moving from site to site throughout the day, undertaking all aspects of the Carpentry trade. Tasks including but not limited to; reactive and planned maintenance and construction activities on our client’s buildings and open space assets.

This position will require someone who can work autonomously in a fast-paced environment exhibiting excellent attention to detail.


  • Undertake all aspects of Carpentry regarding construction and maintenance of Modus’ client’s assets
  • Assist in servicing assets in accordance with relevant standards
  • Use initiative to solve problems that arise on site, in order to complete tasks as efficiently as possible
  • Engage all relevant utilities and service providers for; inspections, approvals and identification of faults
  • Provide efficient and effective customer service
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates and quotations
  • Accurately record all costs, in relation to labour time and materials
  • Stand down hire tools and equipment no longer required, in a timely manner
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are fit for purpose, maintained and used in an appropriate manner

Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade Certificate in Carpentry or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in general carpentry work on small and large scale commercial and retail facilities
  • Driver’s licence
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Working at Heights
  • Elevated Work Platform (Under 11m)
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to administration systems
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction and instruction
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
